James Richards was born in rural Georgia and raised with a love for the outdoors. Out of this connection with nature, he began painting landscapes at a young age and received early success for his work. James is a self taught artist but attributes his understanding from studying the works and writings of Henri, Carlson. Sargent, Gruppe, and Degas. He now spends his time traveling in search for inspiration and sharing his knowledge by teaching workshops and classes. He is an award winning painter and sought after instructor.
