Jennifer E. Miller grew up on the North Carolina coast. Now, living inland she spends a lot of time beside and in the fresh waters of her area. Always interested in art, Miller worked in journalism and criminal defense investigation for decades first. Figure study and portrait painting began in the late 1980s. In 1992 Miller painted outdoors with her artist sister and found she longed for that experience over all other work. Now, 18 years later, Miller occasionally travels to find those first impressions. Door County will offer her much beauty and adrenalin in the 2009 Plein Air Festival. Her studio is in Hillsborough, and she is represented by Somerhill Gallery of Durham, NC.  www.waveoverwave.com
