I have been painting landscapes outdoors since 1970. I belong to the tradition of American painters who get restless when they are in town too long. I paint northern Santa Barbara County, Big Sur, Point Reyes, northern Nevada, and the west coast of Ireland. I work primarily in oils, with occasional side trips into pastels, but all of my work is generated outside the studio, in all weathers. I am a founding member of the OAK Group, 24 painters who paint for, and donate to, environmental causes. I am self-represented at michaeldrury.com, and I exhibit my work at the Great Basin Gallery, NV, and the Palm Loft Gallery, CA.
