I attempt to work with as much integrity as I can muster, trying to avoid sentimental subjects, and reach for deeper connections that express the essence of a person or place. Emmett Johns (Albuquerque, New Mexico and Fish Creek, Wisconsin) lives to draw and paint: landscapes, abstracts, portraits and the human condition. He is an artist of passionate, penetrating studies of people caught in the usual web of time and place, circumstance and wonder. Emmett graduated from the Art Center College of Design, Los Angeles, and was an illustrator in New York City and Chicago before settling in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
